Design Pricing

The Funky Debutante specializes in both commercial and residential interiors. Below is a complete overview of how TFD works and how services are billed — shared openly so that expectations are clear from the very beginning.

How Billing Works

TFD bills by the hour for interior design services, both on site and remotely. This traditional structure allows us to guide every step of your design properly — from concept to completion — rather than rushing decisions to fit a flat fee. The hourly rate is $250.00 and covers all services, including:

• Initial consultations and project meetings

• Spatial planning and presentation preparation

• Communicating with vendors and contractors

• Sourcing and shopping, online and in store

• Research, order management, and correspondence

• Project installations

Travel

Trip charges may apply for projects more than an hour (without traffic) from TFD's headquarters in Woodstock, GA. TFD works with clients ahead of time to determine a fair amount.

Travel expenses, lodging, and per diem charges apply to all out-of-town projects. Out-of-town projects are a significant investment — of both budget and my time away from the studio — so TFD reserves them for larger scopes, typically whole-home projects with a minimum of 290 hours. This way, the trip is always worth taking, and your project always gets the attention it deserves.

Purchasing & Procurement

We ask that all selections presented are purchased directly through The Funky Debutante, LLC — and there's a good reason for it. After 25 years in this industry, my trade accounts are built on relationships with vendors and manufacturers I trust: makers whose products I know are crafted well, priced fairly for their quality, and backed by people who stand behind their work. When you purchase through TFD, you're not just buying a sofa — you're buying my judgment about what's worth bringing into your home, and my advocacy when something needs attention. If an item arrives damaged, or a manufacturer falls short, TFD manages the correction, repair, or replacement on your behalf. You make one phone call; I handle the rest.

Like virtually all established design firms, TFD earns a profit on the products it sells — this, alongside our hourly design time, is how the firm sustains itself and continues to serve clients at the highest level. Design time for sourcing, coordination, and order management is billed at TFD's standard hourly rate. All applicable freight, tax, shipping, receiving, storage, and delivery charges are billed at cost.

Ordering Policies

Written approval and payment in full are required before placing any order on your behalf. Because custom and trade orders are placed specifically for your project, they cannot be canceled or returned once placed — and every item becomes your property the moment it's ordered. Your written approval is exactly what it sounds like: the final say. Before anything is ordered, you'll see and approve the complete specification — the item, the finish, the dimensions, the quantity — taking whatever time is needed to be sure. TFD then takes equal care on our side, ordering to exact design specifications and confirming every detail with the vendor, so that what arrives is precisely what was approved.

TFD stays on top of manufacturers and vendors on behalf of our clients to correct mistakes, arrange repairs, or replace items that arrive damaged or defective. Manufacturers and vendors are ultimately responsible for their products; we simply make sure you never face them alone. Please let us know of any concern as soon as your items arrive.

Why We Share All of This

This structure is standard among established design firms. TFD shares it openly because clear expectations are the foundation of a trusting client relationship — and because the clients we work best with value knowing exactly how their project runs.
